Strobe lights are specialized, economical illumination lamps and lanterns with standard sunlight color temperature of 5500K. They are battery efficient, compatible with many peripheral accessories, suitable for a variety of photographic situations and they have ultra long lives (about 10,000 flashes).
However, due to their instantaneous illumination characteristic, flash lights are not suitable to use with regular commercial cameras. Listed below are some commonly used flash lights and accessory combinations. When selecting flash light kits, it is helpful to consider the following items.
1.Wattage: 500W and under are sufficient for small/home movie studio (10foot x 10foot), flash lights between 500 and 1000W suit the medium movie studio (10 to 15 foot x 10 to 15 foot), large-scale movie studio (above 15 foot x 15) should use 1000W flash lights or higher.
2.Accessories: A softbox can soften the light to achieve a reduced shadow definition(*2), various types of reflective umbrella may soften and reflect light to adjust color temperature, a boom can move the light source around a target objext, delivering various special effects.
